FAQ

The PeerSpot Awards are an annual ranking of the top Enterprise IT products in three categories:

  1. The Peer Awards are our most prestigious recognition, and are based on authentic, timely user reviews from verified reviewers. The awards are given to the top three solutions in the eligible categories, as determined by PeerSpot’s ranking methodology.
  2. The Rising Star Awards recognize the top 25 products that have significantly increased in percent of traffic volume on the PeerSpot review site over the past 12 months in selected Peer Award categories.
  3. The User’s Choice Awards provide users an opportunity to vote for their favorite products from selected Peer Award categories.

Products included in the Tech Leader and Rising Star awards must have a minimum of eight reviews in the 12 month consideration period. For this year’s awards, the timeframe is from September 2022 through August 2023.

The total ranking of a product in a category, represented by the bar length, is based on a weighted aggregate score. The score is calculated using the following factors:

  • Comparisons Views: the product with the highest number of comparisons with other products-in-the-category gets a maximum of 25 points. Every other product gets assigned points based on its total in proportion to the #1 product in that ranking factor. For example, if a product has 80% of the number of comparison views compared to the product with the most reviews then the product’s points for reviews would be 25 * 80%.
  • Views: We calculate the number of Views based on the percentage of category comparisons out of the total comparisons of the product.
    • For example, if a product has 100 Comparisons with other products in the category and a total of 1,000 Comparisons, the product will be assigned 10% of the total number of Views. If the product has a total of 2,000 Views, it will be assigned 200 Views for this ranking factor.
    • The product with the highest number of views gets a maximum of 25 points.  Every other product gets assigned points based on its total in proportion to the #1 product in that ranking factor.
    • For example, if a product has 100 Comparisons with other products in the category and a total of 1,000 Comparisons, the product will be assigned 10% of the total number of Views. If the product has a total of 2,000 Views, it will be assigned 200 Views for this ranking factor.
  • Reviews: the product with the highest number of reviews gets a maximum of 15 points. Every other product gets assigned points based on its total in proportion to the #1 product in that ranking factor. For example, if a product has 80% of the number of reviews compared to the product with the most reviews then the product’s points for reviews would be 15 * 80%.
  • Rating: the maximum score is 25 points awarded linearly between 6-10
    • e.g. 6 or below=0 points; 7.5=7.5 points; 9.0=18 points; 10=25 points.
  • Words/Review: the maximum score is 10 points awarded linearly between 0-900 words
    • e.g. 600 words = 4 points; 750 words = 7 points; 900 or more words = 10 points.
    • If a product has fewer than ten reviews, the point contribution for Rating and Words/Review is reduced: 1/3 reduction in points for products with 5-9 reviews, two-thirds reduction for products with fewer than five reviews.

Reviews that are more than 24 months old, as well as those written by resellers, are completely excluded from the ranking algorithm.

All products with 50+ points are designated as a Leader in their category.

PeerSpot’s Review Authentication Policy and Process helps to preserve information credibility and content integrity. The process includes the following measures:

  • User reviews must come from real, relevant users. We confirm that reviews are from real users who have used the product/service, or have evaluated it for the purpose of using it for their company, in the past 12 months.
  • We require vendors to identify themselves. Employees of tech vendors must identify themselves during registration so that site visitors are able to distinguish between information contributed by vendors versus that contributed by tech professionals.
  • We verify every registered user. New users must register with their LinkedIn profile or company email address, which helps us to prevent vendors or non-users from posting fake reviews.

The Leader recognition is given to any product that earns more than 50 points in a given month based on the methodology outlined above.

The Number One recognition is given to the product with the most points in its category in a given month based on the methodology outlined above.

The Rising Star Award recognizes the top ten products in over 100 solution categories based on in-depth, verified reviews from real users over a 12-month period. Rising Star winning products represent the most promising in their solution category according to verified reviewer insights and experience. Categories for the Rising Star Awards are selected from Tech Leader categories. Not all categories will have a product recognized as a Rising Star.

Only products with their first review posted to the PeerSpot platform within the past 12 months are considered for the Rising Star Award. In addition, the product solution category must have a minimum of 1,000 views. This recognition puts the spotlight on “up-and-comers” and can be viewed as a reflection of growing market interests based on evolving business needs, industry trends or competitive challenges.

The PeerSpectives awards is showcasing exceptional marketing teams and best practices. Winners include the top ten PeerSpot customers recognized for excellence in marketing across demand generation, customer marketing, customer advocacy, and digital marketing efforts.

Customers are selected based on their achievements from a marketing perspective – showcasing tangible results for collaboration, driving leads and content creation, and leveraging customer reviews in unique and impactful ways.
